Veterinary Technician Relief

IMG_2014.jpg

I am proud to offer veterinary technician relief services for hospitals in Maryland and Virginia! I absolutely love this profession and enjoy using my technical and behavioral skills and knowledge to care for patients and their owners.

I am a highly efficient, confident team player who will always own my mistakes, but I’ll also let you know if I’m uncomfortable or unsure of anything to avoid mistakes altogether.

In my career, I’ve held roles from veterinary assistant through practice manager and just about everything in between! You can check out my previous experience here and I am happy to provide professional references upon request.

I’ve been fortunate to be well-utilized as an LVT in multiple AAHA-accredited and Fear Free Certified(TM) practices in Northern Virginia, so there’s not much I can’t do in a small animal general practice. I am a fast learner and enjoy a good challenge!

I have demonstrated proficiency in both performing and teaching skills including, but not limited to:

  • Low Stress Handling and Gentle Control techniques for patient handling and restraint

  • Anesthesia induction and monitoring and surgical assisting

  • Speedy diagnostic dental radiographs, prophylaxis, and extractions within my legal scope of practice

  • Bandaging and wound care

  • Precise poking of vessels, bladders, masses, etc.

  • Sedation, including "walk-and-poke" technique for swift administration in high FAS dogs and through-the-carrier administration for high FAS cats

  • Epidurals and local blocks

  • Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance

Of course, no one can be good at everything. I do have a weakness, and it is vaccinating cats. I will expertly provide gentle control of your feline patients, but I will almost certainly give at least one vaccine through and through to your exam table (or whatever surface the cat is settled upon).
